ok whell me and my friend are in the process of buying a 86 and i was wondering anyone have any engine pics, i just want to compaire to the one i saw, and also a extra fuse box cover for the inside or a pic of what fuse is what, hell where would be a good place to get it... i think the motor mouts may be bad in the car

Well, a place that has ton of info on the ae86 is Club4ag.com. The problem with the mounts is not a big deal if you don't mind taking the engine out to swap the mounts with Cusco ones. Cusco sells an engine and tranny mount set(not that much $$ last time I checked). Oh don't forget to buy some manuals of the car to help you out. Any more questions feel free to ask anytime.

humm im not sure if thats a good pic with that angle thanks for trying, but the one we were looking at where it says 1600 was kinda slanted down, not sure if its suppose to

No problem, thats the only stock engine bay pic I can find of a friends car. The reast of the pics I have of modded to hell and back 4AGE motors:D

also one of the head lights doesnt want to go up but the lights turn on, he said its not the motor but the fuse or something, where would be good to look, i think it may be bad fuses all around, because the dash wasnt even lighting up and while i was looking at it i decided to get down and dirty and change a fuse that didnt work and that ended up fixing the dash lights. fuse was corroded.

You have any pics of the engine you saw or anything? Yeah, its an older car and some things may need to put up to specs again. You may have to spend a day or two to give it a good look all over and see what will need replacing before you upgrade it. Check if the rear brake calipers(if its a GTS) are seized and if the e-brake works. Those are notorious for giving out after a long time.

:( i miss it

yea it seems like the back driver side seems to lean down a lil. guess its normal, i dont have a pic u for got to take one lol, to excited because it was at his friends house and he had a second gen rx7 and since i own a 3rd gen we both talking about the 86 and 7s but i cheaked the e brake and that seems to work. i couldnt take it for a test drive tho... it doesnt want to start. he claims its the fuel pump which we will be ordering and installing to make sure before anything else. also comes with some spare parts, but does need alot of work, and me and my friend are willing to do it. its red atm i only saw maybe 2 rust spots but after we bring it back it will go to the body shop for a new panda paint job..

we may and probably will need help with it down the road, so i hope you guys dont mind. lol

where could i get a good fuse cover or new one, i want the paper on it so i know what is what

If getting down and dirty means changing a fuse to you maybe should rethink getting an AE86 or any 20 year old car for that matter.

it was a figure of speak, i know how it is to own an old car, this will be the oldest one i have owned if we do end up buying it. dont know why people always got negative things to say.

trust me when you own an rx7 its always down and dirty
