alternator issues

i have a s14 SR and my alt went . i installed 3 alternators now and none of them have worked right. one was from an old sentra from the junkyard, another from a s13 sr, and finnaly i tried the KA (i swaped the pully and all that)
The alternator is pushing some power because it will idle without battery power. But when i drive it, the car dies from power loss, i tried a new battery and checked the voltage with a multimeter and im getting 12.64V
Any ideas?
btw fuse is fine

i have an idea. Get a s14 sr20det alternator and try it. if you have the old one. you always can take it somewhere to rebuilt it. just saying

check if all connections r tight and the alt has the small ground on it
also if plug on alt is clipped in all the way
