Best Decision... Need HELP.

Ok...

Make the story short....

Friend was driving my 93' Hatch, HE didn't realize the car was overheating and continue to drive it on Turnpike, about 5 mins passed on the Turnpike, he told me he felt a electrical shock through the shift knob, after he felt that the car shut off and came to a rolling stop at the toll.

Engine got so hot, spark plugs melted into the engine, (had fun pulling em out).

Did a compression test and it didn't go past 60psi, so I know its a blown head gasket.

Now what I want to know is what would be the way to go now, change the actual engine, or rebuild the head?

Its a newer KA with about 90-100k on it.

I know im a idiot for one lending my car, and also having it with low fluids, but I guess you live and learn, but any input and help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Yeah but you'd also be at the mercy of machine work, which isn't always perfect especially if you're on a budget.

I'm with SAS, swap it.

for real i just had my head and block machined it was like 400 worth of work to get it to where i wanted it. But i got it done for free. shit isnt cheap son.

Swap it bro! If it overheated to the point where the plugs melted to the head then guaranteed the deck of the block is fucked also & no telling how bad the warpage to the head is...It'll cost too much to re deck the block and have the head checked and shaved blah blah blah...Get another motorset and swap it out you'll be good to go :bigthumbu

must have overheated alot, ka is fucking cast iron lol

my friend did that too, "forgot" to put water in the radiator...lol
