Clutch switch bypass

paperclip, lol

Im trying to buy this guys car, gonna check it out today but it has a starting problem...He say he was diving and the car just shut off...He changed alt and battery and it wasnt it...He says when he cranks it he hears a click from the starter...But he also had a leaky clutch master cyl which leaked onto the clutch pedal assembly which he thinks shorted out the clutch saftey switch...Im goin to check it out in a few but would like some input on what to check first, im not exactly the best with electrical...& it cannot be kick started he said...I know info is kinda limited but if you or any1 can shed some light on this itll be greatly appreciated.

it doesnt though he said when he cranks it he just heres a clicking coming from the starter area.

if it were a clutch switch problem, the engine wouldn't spin

If the starter or starter solenoid is stuck can it cause the car to shut off while its driving like that...I know usually the clicking from the starter usually means a stuck starter solenoid or bad starter.

the relay is just bad and needs to be bypassed..i put fuses on both sets of wires..cummin out ..and if its the clutch switch at pedal then jump it wit a wire..

dude get a piece of cable and where u see the starter there is a wire with a conector to the solenoid, disconect that and put the piece of wire there and with the switch inside the car in the ON position, get the wire on the starter and touch the positive in the battery, that should crank the engine if the starter is ok....
