I documented my Japanese curry making hotness. Heres a step by step with me in teh kitchen
3 chicken breasts diced
2 big potatoes diced
2 portabella mushroom caps sliced
medium sweet onion (try not to use non sweet onions I think it overpowers the dish)
carrots
Heat up a big deep pot and throw in the chicken and taters cook the chicken until its white on the outside
when the chicken is white add the onions and pour enough water *about 4 cups* to cover the contents,
prepare your curry, cut it into cubes it will dissolve a bit faster
stir in the curry and bring the water to a simmer. The curry will thicken as it cooks. If its too thick add more water. stir frequently so the curry doesnt burn, do this for about 15 minutes
Get the rice started *I use 3 cups jasmine rice*
water chestnuts are optional.....I lurv them
Drop in your mushrooms, carrots, and water chestnuts. Cook for another 5 minutes and keep stirring
after 5 minutes everything should be good and cooked. This should be your final result
DING RICE IS DONE DING RICE IS DONE!
grab a shallow bowl. Arrange how you like. Traditional would be like this
Grab a utensil of your choice and fouk it up. Curry rocks the house, best thing is you can put in anything you like. This time I used a bit of honey, tasted pretty good. VEry spicy and sweet, but then again most japanese curry is.
