Whats up guys/chicks. Looking around at different sites and talkign to people iv noticed a lot of people dont trailer their cars to events. How many people tow and how many people dont? Im talking about an event at OSW. things to worry about 1- the drive alone. There AND back. 2- drifting. 3- if you brake down, then what? Im just trying to see everyones oppinion. I guess 95% of everyone drives a 240. so if yo brake down the odds of someone having your spare part or knowing how to fix your problem is high. I drive a mitsubishi starion. Seeing one on the roads is rare, seeing one at a drift event is slim. If i brake its a gonna cost to tow it back down. im just trying to see how everyone looks at it.

I would LOVE to trailer my car to events. I think out of all of us, I drive the most to and from events.

Im driving 328miles to the atlanta Event on April 9th, then another 328miles back to gainesville,FL. >ONE EVENT. HELL YES i wish I could trailer my car!!!!

no i dont tow my car to events, from ft lauderdale to ocala, orlando, charlotte and soon tampa. I bring 2 sets of tires to slide on(one to drive home on rear or spares.)........ 170 peice tool box, change teh oil before hand, have extra radiator hoses, water, silicone fittings, tbolts, laptop to retune, solidering gun\kit w\ supplies, multimeter, vice grips, extra oil and filter incase i blow a intercooler hose a few times or ai have an issue with the tune i can change the oil at teh track and not worry about running fuel in the oil lowering the vescosity. Umm i double check everything, i tune my car conservativly, i dont drive redicilously outside my limits where the car can be damage. extra set of sprak plugs and gapper. extra vac lines and hose clamps with heat shielding for it. Misc hardware to reattach downpipe or wastegate (dont ask). jumper cables, tire pump, tire plug kit, fix a flat. 2 sweatshirts during winter and an extra pair of jeans. mechanics gloves, RTV sealant, ZIPTIES. and some other stuf that im not thinking about.

OH and i pack some common sense. ;-)

*edit*- brake fluid for them pesky slave cylinders that are retarded. ratchet wrenches, hydrolic and manual jacks and 2 stands.

AND YOU WONDER WHY I TELL PEOPLE TO GET A SR!

If you dont bring any of the things i listed above, it is a given that your turbo ka will explode instantly upon entering track.

I know a lot of Auto X people and road race people. One thing I learn is rent a U Haul truck that is big enough to fit your car. Call tow truck(Flat Bed) drive the car on the bed. Then off the bed into the truck. Drive to the event and reverse the steps. :D IT works.

But you don't bring a good jack for when your AC falls on your Oil lines... :p

I drive my car to the events... I maintain my engine so I don't have to worry about the car breaking down but I still bring tools, fluids, parts, etc just incase.. Also some quick setting JB weld lol... It's not so bad because my brother lives in orlando so I have a staging area for the events.

My family has a enclosed 24ft car trailer used to be setup for a motorcycle race team... right now it used for storage but I keep bugging my mom to sell it to me so I can use it to get my car to events... we'll see...
