..how many here daily-drive there SR swapped cars? And how reliable of an engine is the SR? What KA24DE parts will cross over to the SR? noob to this shit..bite me..ha
 
SR like any other motor is fairly reliable for daily... SRs are use for daily in asia, australia, and europe.

I daily my SR for 2 years and drove it to every event posisible, local or out of my home town and it did great, it took more abuse than anyone can imagine, but like with any motor the more u make it go faster the les reliable it is.

KAs are great and they can take abuse too b ut only with mild mods. the motor tends to wear quick once is on boost. KA do great as n/a motors and my 1st KA had 231k miles and it ran like a champ on the road andon the track.

in the end if u want reliable boost motor go SR and if u can build it do it and then u can make loads of power and last longer, if n/a is ur game the KA ftw but u can also buld a KA to take boost and the do ok but I think that we still need more R&D on that motor to make it a great boost motor.
 
as long as you dont get power hungry and decide to boost 12-1000 psi.. you will have no problems daily driving your SR... i drive my coupe everyday... at only 7psi its decently fast, good with gas, and reliable...
 
Its fine. I have daily driven a few sr powerd s-chassis now. X-over parts w/ ka's don't really exist (as far as the engine is concerned) but you can find sr parts everywhere (other SR powered cars were sold in the states and enough people have swapped sr's to create a huge market).
 
ive been daily driving my car with my SR for over 3years, and been over 100 events strong since i got the motor. As long as u maintain it, and give it a good tune, shit will run forever!!!!

ur tranny will give out before ur motor will
 
theres tons of people that daily SRs when i had my SR hatch i drove it on 6 lbs and never had a problem

uhhh, TJ, ive been driving on 15lbs for 3 years. all day everyday

but, im running a z32 maf and i got it dyno tuned with my SAFC. My Air/fuel ration is 12 on the dot every gear. aslong as its properly tuned, the car will run like a champ for years with proper TLC plus whats the point of getting an SR if ur gonna keep it at 6pounds

i had one for a while....15psi +++++....stock clutch and tranny ill give out first....maintenance is all
 
i think only the japanese and canadians are stupid enough to daily drive SR20s. shit even people with G20 and Sentras are on thin ice daily driving their cars.

but dont worry, they baby them so when they come over here with 40k miles is like they have just been broken in
