hello people, so after much research ive finally succeded at installing my altima electric fans.

im sorry but i dont have a camera yet, as soon as i get a camera im going to post the piks.

ok so first of all, the altima fans dont fit the s13 or s14 radiator. is bigger, a good 4 inches bigger.
i had read that the sentra fans fit perfect but since i got the altima, then thats what we'r going to talk about.

you have to trim the bottom half corners of the fans. you could use w.e you want, but i found that a pair of pliers worked perfect just brake off the excess plastic, all around the fan walls on the bottom, you only need to do this to the botom of the fans on both external corners. you should do it to the top left corner too where the uper radiator hose goes.

once your done, you can sand it and make the edges pretty or just leave it,

disconect the upper radiator hose off the radiator, and bend it so is out of your way, and fit the fans in there...
(of course thats after you took off the stock fan, when you take off the fanshroud and clutch fan you will need some washers so the nuts tight back up against your pulley with no problem.)

once you fit the fans in there the bottom right pin will actually go in the hole for the fan shroud. the left one wont. get some zipties and tight the sides and top. (figure it out , i did mine agaisnt the radiator on the sides and holes on top)

so the altima fans have dual speeds, low and high. youll see on each fan 4 wires, black and blue and white'red and white'orange??? i dont remember, the black and the white'red are the high speed. cut the other two wires short and tape them up, get some conectors and 12gauge wire and extend those cables to where your battery goes. should be 2 power wires and 2 grounds. go ahead and ground them somewhere.

next youll need the best piece of equipment ive seen in a long time. i bought it on pepboys for $35 is a thermo switch that brings a relay included and an inline fuse and 2 power outlets for both fans, along with the probe and an adgustment screw for the temperature.

the switch has

yellow= Accesory Iginition signal on
Red= batt power
black= gorund
green= Ac signal
blue= fan 1
orange= fan 2

go ahead and wire all that up and find a good place to bolt your thermo switch i mounted it by the battery where the big ble relay is,.

i taped the yellow from the wiper since i was too lazy to look for a wire closer to the battery but if you get a test light you could look for one closer.

once you wire all that up. (hopefully you had your battery disconected and didnt burn anything lol)

is time for the probe, put the probe on the top far left corner of the radiator right under the hose,. and adjust the screw to the lowest setting (160 degrees)

now your pretty much done. go turn on your car. and wait 5mins till the car gets hot, your fans should kick in before the temp gauge even gets half way, and they should go off when you shut your car off. if they are still on when you shut your car off then that means you tapped the yellow wire into a live wire, and not an ACC on wire.

if you did it like me, then it should work but look really messy,
lol is ok....

go back to the auto store and get them wire hose things that are plastic. get over 5 feet of that. some more conectors and more tape and more 12 gauge wire.

now go back and redo the whole harness as you like and hide the wires to your liking.

im going to post piks tomorrow or thursday.

here is a list if your going to do it.

-altima fans.
-thermo switch (with relay,fuse integrated if not you need to get a 30amp inline fuse for each fan and a 30 amp relay.)
-12 gauge wire about 10 feet
-12 gauge conectors like 10 of them
-16-18 gauge conectors
-electrical tape
-wire splitter tool
-wire cuters.

thats it your set. good luck. :bigthumbu

You can buy the thermo switch at advanced for 18 bucks just throwing it out there
