Easiest way to slap on tranny...

loosen the motor mount bolts and jack up the front of the motor so the back is tilting downwards, slide tranny on and start to thread bolts. its not as easy as it sounds, but have patentence and dont get frustrated, its gonna be a bitch, but best of luck.

hahaha ive got my motor removal skills so down i just pull the motor to swap trannies or clutches.

I'm to skinny to be lifting that bitch up and s14's you gotta rotate it so its even worse.

lol ive masteres the technique takes me 10-15min to line it up and bolt it down ite best to put the tranny using the starter bulge as a guede in the 5 o' clock position line it up with the clutch the spin it staight and bolt it down if u need to shimmy the motor around use the exhaust u can move tha engine werever you want once youve mastered this technique tranny swaps are no longer a hastle

We had to rotate mine too - maybe its just an SR thing?

To reinstall my transmission in the driveway a friend and I had to rotate the bell housing to clear the transmission tunnel wall. I had the transmission cross member removed and i believe we had to rotate it clock wise to the 2:30 or 3:00 o'clock position.

Edit: If the top of the transmission is clocked to 2-3 o'clock then that would put the starter bump in the bell housing at 5o'clock like what platino drifter said.

i had to rotate every KA-SR RWD transmission ive ever done.. or maybe i just did it for the first one and thought i had to everytime? lol idk either way yea, just tilt that bitch til it goes in.

its ghey doing it on the ground with the motor already in, just get an extra jack to hold half of the transmission up while you are rotating it trying to get it in, makes life easier and safer.

but next time just pull the damn motor out, its seriously only 10 hose clamps, and 17 easy to access bolts/nuts.

sorry, 21 bolts/ nuts if you count the 4 that hold the hood on
