ebrake is pissing me off someone help

ok here is the thing my ebrake does not lock up at all it only serves the purpose as a parking brake my ebrake starts engaging at about 16 clicks when i'm sliding and pull the ebrake it dosen't even lock so i tried tightening the screw under the ebrake for like 25 minutes and nothing happened now i need help :)
 
do you know how to tighten the adjuster right?

click it up to where you want it to engage (low I would imagine) and tighten it till it gets snug-ish.

that, or your cables might be completely stretched and fucked. Might have to put new cables on.
 
bearcat that is exactly what i was doing turning it to the right for like a good 20mins im more leaning to the cable being stretched also and 87redz13 the normal brakes are on point to slack or slouch
 
yep or excessively worn pads, or an issue with the caliper. more than likely though its the cable or pads. i cant remember if you can adjust this, but did you check at the equalizer to see if you could adjust it

yeah, cables could be reallll stretched.

Like, it should have tightened up a lillll bit. And theres no way it should have taken you 20 minutes to tighten that shit up. Took me like 3 minutes to go from insanely loose, to break the stud off. haha.

id agree though, your doing something wrong or the nut is STRIPPED cuz it shoulda broke or gotten tight.
 
bearcat no joke i was sitting there for like 20min just turning and turning and nothing was happening occasionally it would start to get a lil tight then right back to loose

ill try doing it again and tell you guys whats up

Def sounds stripped. Next step is replace that nut/bolt (whichever is stripped) or goto a junkyard and get a assembly. Or hydro.
 
Mine doesnt lock while driving and I have brand new pads. Im pretty sure the cable is stretched. I have another cable but is it one cable or two?
