harness bars legal?

I have a 4 pt harness in my 929, and dont like the fact that it obstructs the rear cockpit. I was looking into buying and or making a harness bar, but are they considered legal in events? I wont be running a full cage UNTIL the motor/suspension work is done. But I would like to get 2 seats with harnesses in for now. But I would also like to be track legal.

Also anyone know any companies that make them? I was thinking one for a cressida might fit without major mods.

Depends on the angle and mounting location of the harness. Goto an event and peek into peoples cars that passed tech.

You have to look up what harness you have and find the proper angle. Unless broken Collar bones are on your agenda! Check the date on the harness while your at it.
 
its not illegal, but it does not take the place of any type of roll cage either. Its only used as a means to mount your harness properly and safely.

If your car is stripped out and you have to build it your self anyway a 4-point or more cage with built in harness bar is probably a better option.
 
^ my car has full interior, and will be kept that way. Thats the reason behind a harness bar. a cage maybe down the road, but not right now.

So, if I run a harness bar in my car... Will I pass tech? Thats really all thats holding me back from buying one right now..

If I will pass tech using a harness bar, ill order it tonight.
