HELP: Rebuilding coilover inserts? crossing to different inserts?

I got a crack head deal on some used "clean looking" s13 JIC coilovers a month ago, one of the fronts is blown and JIC wont rebuild... they are height adjustable with no dampening. I was thinking of crossing all the inserts to a Koni/bilstein/tokico adjustable type insert from an MR2 which are the same size... but the top of the JIC pistons in the front look custom and IDK if the camber plates will work with another brand of inserts :(...

Does anyone know a company that rebuilds inserts? locally? Or a shop that does suspension work? What would be my best option for inserts? My brother has an E30 with Bilsteins/similar spring set up and I love the way that car rides, so im really leaning towards the Bilstein (sport) inserts...

I dont mind spending $400-500 on adjustable Inserts since the total cost will be cheaper overall then a set of megans and ill have better dampening IMO.

ANYONE?

ALOT of ppl make their own custom coilovers for track use, crossing to different inserts shouldn't be that crazy of an idea, INFACT with all the blown coilovers that you can get your hands on cheaply im surprised no one else has tried/thought about it on this forum ...

I've done it before but never using an aftermarket strut as the shell. I'd send them to a reputable company like ground control and see what they say.

cool i have never seen anything like that before.

google anything with Ground control, youll see alot of posts about ppl who made their own coilovers. ALot of cars never become as popular as the 240sx, since there not mainstream there arnt alot of options for coilovers, so ppl have to get creative :p... I figure I have threaded shock bodies and camber plates, all I need are inserts...
