help with grants and financial aid!!

i kno some of you guys are in college and have gotten some financial aid and grants
i cant find a job. so ama go to college.
i was wondering if some of you can help me with some good websites. link.
and some good tips .
also please keep it sireous.

apply on fafsa first off...and then jus do general searches because u can get scholarships for your heritage and background and even really minor stuff....but fafsa first and then search for scholarships and grants that apply to u

I dont know about the school your going to but at pbcc u just go in the administration office and fill out the paperwork and they will tell you what financial aid and what grants u can get

Basically once you get accepted, you walk into the fin aid office and say you need a loan. They'll tell you everything you need to know, its that simple.

well i dont really want a loan.. if i can get with grants, financial aid.. a load would be my last resource.

financial aid = loans

grants usually carry prerequisites. the fin aid dept at the university will let you know what you qualify for.

i think you need to go to high school maybe even middle school and learn to type before you even think about college

No need, you'll be surprised at the amount of ppl in college who can't tell the difference between THEN and THAN and who insist in writing "I would OF"

Regardless. How well did you do in high school? The amount of BRIGHT FUTURES scholarships you get depends a lot on that. But judging from the fact that you left college as a last resource I'm guessing you weren't exactly an A student. Whats your hs GPA? Bright futures is a big help.

If you have a decent GPA, meaning if you know how to read and write, then there's hundreds of scholarship opportunities available online which require you to write and essay or something. This sounds tedious but if you apply to like 20 or more then you are probably going to win at least one, and some of them offer big bucks. Lets say you make $9 an hour. How many hours of work would it take to make 2 grand?
exactly.

Like someone else mentioned you need to check out FAFSA. Fafsa is the shit because it doesn't depend on your GPA but on your actual financial need. Your best bet will be to go the financial aid office and talk to a counselor about your opportunities. Hell, even just doing some online research on your college's website will give you some results. They always have a "financial aid" section.

In case you screwed up so bad during high school and your parents make enough money that the government thinks you do not deserve free money (and trust me they give out money like it was candy on halloween), and you still want to go to college (which you should), then you can also think about federal subsidized loans. A Federal Subsidized Loan means that you get a private loan through a lender, but the government pays your interest while you are in college. Then when you graduate they give you a grace period of about 6 months before you need to start paying them back.

There's also the opportunity of work-study aid. I don't know much about this but basically you work in your university (hours are pretty flexible and the jobs are not hard) in exchange for your tuition.

Your last, last, last resort would be a private loan.

So you have a lot of opportunities in this country. Anyone who wants to go to college can do it and the government will help you out big time, no excuse.
Hell, they PAY ME big money to go to college and I bummed out a lot in high school and only applied to 1 college because I was lazy (and stupid) . Where the f'in else do they do that?

Basically you have a huge amount of opportunities and resources but its up to you to use them.

fastweb.com i got a few scholarships from them but most scholarships have min. requirements for gpa some i had were as high as 3.5 which wasnt a problem for me im just givin you a heads up.

dude how old are you and are you in HS graduating this year?

if you are in a FL HS and you are graduating this year, you better fill out the FAFSA and make the grade (2.75 or 3.0) and get a 950 (reading and math combined score) on your SAT. that will give you an automatic 75% tuition at any FL state university from bright futures. it pays 100% tuition at the community college level, they pay up to until you get your first bachelor's degree. so you can get your AA at the comm level, and then go to a university and they pay 75% until BA or BS. you just need to have at least 6 credits (2 classes) per semester (just do 4 then you can get fin aid from the govt). You need to go into your fin aid advisor at the college of your choice and ask them about scholarships or loans you can apply for, but they are gonna ask you if you filled out a FAFSA. your fin aid office at your college is the best place to ask, because they will help you find legit scholarships, check on their websites for links too. edison college and FGCU have them on their websites so im sure everywhere else has them too.

i have bright futures and had a basic free ride for my AA. now i just pay 25% tuition and books at FGCU where im attempting two bachelors. (loop hole in BF scholarship :D)

oh i almost forgot, get work study too: they give you a set amount for tuition and books AND THEY pay you for working for them and they work around your school schedule.
