i think you need to go to high school maybe even middle school and learn to type before you even think about college
No need, you'll be surprised at the amount of ppl in college who can't tell the difference between
THEN and
THAN and who insist in writing "I would
OF"
Regardless. How well did you do in high school? The amount of
BRIGHT FUTURES scholarships you get depends a lot on that. But judging from the fact that you left college as a last resource I'm guessing you weren't exactly an A student. Whats your hs GPA? Bright futures is a big help.
If you have a decent GPA, meaning if you know how to read and write, then there's hundreds of scholarship opportunities available online which require you to write and essay or something. This sounds tedious but if you apply to like 20 or more then you are probably going to win at least one, and some of them offer big bucks. Lets say you make $9 an hour. How many hours of work would it take to make 2 grand?
exactly.
Like someone else mentioned you need to check out
FAFSA. Fafsa is the shit because it doesn't depend on your GPA but on your actual financial need. Your best bet will be to go the financial aid office and talk to a counselor about your opportunities. Hell, even just doing some online research on your college's website will give you some results. They always have a "financial aid" section.
In case you screwed up so bad during high school and your parents make enough money that the government thinks you do not deserve free money (and trust me they give out money like it was candy on halloween), and you still want to go to college (which you should), then you can also think about
federal subsidized loans. A
Federal Subsidized Loan means that you get a
private loan through a lender, but the government
pays your interest while you are in college. Then when you graduate they give you a grace period of about 6 months before you need to start paying them back.
There's also the opportunity of
work-study aid. I don't know much about this but basically you work in your university (hours are pretty flexible and the jobs are not hard) in exchange for your tuition.
Your last, last, last resort would be a
private loan.
So you have a lot of opportunities in this country. Anyone who wants to go to college can do it and the government will help you out big time, no excuse.
Hell, they
PAY ME big money to go to college and I bummed out a lot in high school and only applied to 1 college because I was lazy (and stupid) . Where the f'in else do they do that?
Basically you have a huge amount of opportunities and resources but its up to you to use them.
