Holley LS-Fest Drift Challenge. A Fun LSonly competition for 'Mericans.

Howdy Florida friends.

I was going to go to this and drive and have a total blast, but my motor isn't done yet, and don't really have time to dial in the Camaro.

Anyways, I hear Harri and Boxmodification might be going to this, and some of you other LS1 people should too. Ryan, Pat, J-lo streetcar, and whoever else has LS1's now.

Its in Bowling Green Kentucky, and here is a vidya of dat dere racetrack.

Looks like a flat OSW with a fully-paved infield. They have open practice Friday, Qualifying Sat and tandem Sun. The other fun thing is there shouldn't really be a reason to prevent tandem trains and other fun from happening during practice.

Its September 9th weekend, 3 day event. Think Nopi Nationals but a LOT more grown up, with actually awesome stuff instead of a bunch of gay riced out showcars.

yea im going. JLo, Pat, Ryan are all needing to defend points in SWD series. Heh. No one else has a running LS car atm in the FLA.

just sayin... that car sounds like poo and he is REALLY crazy on blipping that thing.
 
My trans is toast and im broke. Im going to try to drive pbir but i dont think it will last long. If i can figure out how to rebuild this thing myself than game on!
 
I knew it was weak when i bought it but it was cheeapppp!

Some weird problems. Pro 5.0 shifter 1998 T/A t56, Newer stock clutch / fly.
1 When i first bought the T/A it would grind / miss teeth going into reverse. So im always was easy when i put it in. Feels like reverse gear cluster is missing some teeth in certain spots.
2 I missed third a couple times (prolly 3) and now it will barely go into third under hard acceleration. And wont go into 3rd when downshifting until almost coming to a stop. I believe this to be a syncro or syncro brake.
3 Now after a couple minutes of abuse it seems to get stuck in certain gears and will not come out for almost a minute of messing with it, then feels normal again? Makes no sense to me.
4 Also have some slight bearing whine as well. So i assume it will need a bearing kit as well.

Anyone have any insight into building these turds on a budget??

so, it basically sounds like the trans I drove on all of last year and 2 rounds this year.
 
Yea no Pat or Jlowe or Ryan :(
I wish shit was diff weekends, Ive wanted to drive VIR again for years.
