how to get the gear oil back in my tranny

yep, just unbolt your shifter and pour it down. 2.5 quarts for KA24DE

The front two shifter bolts are a little hard to get to.

Used it on all my supras, rx-7 and my 240.

Dont pull the shifter there is a fill hole in the side of the tranny and then use a slurp gun and fill it till it runs out, the fill hole bolt is a female 1/2in. drive socket head. Only run mt90 its worth the 10$ a quart.

the side of a tranny to drain is a inconvenience to go through all trouble. When it can be done 10x faster . just drain tranny fluid, put bolt back and fill 2.5 quarts. no problems here

wrong it takes like ten seconds to drain and fill from the bottom, only two bolt verses shift knob, shift boot, shifter and then fill. atleast in my opinion.

yea, but the OP just said he put the motor/tranny just in the car, so my method would be easier. if everything was already assembled then your method would be better.

you dont neeed to unbolt shit on the shifter, just use some snap ring pliers and take the shifter out in 20 seconds then fill...

Stop being lazy and doing it the wrong way take the bolt off on the side of the tranny after draining it BUY a Hand Pump for $10 and fill it till it over flows. Now you know its done right and it take like 5min this way and no diff fluid in your car to make it smell like shit.
