You can't say myspace is not a good source for information. Many people, and companies are now using myspace for advertisements and free internet pages. (The cheap way out of actually making a web page, getting a web designer and possibly paying for the site/server) Though it is not the most professional manner of posting things online, it still gets the message out there. Flickr can also be used as a portfolio, you can use any picture you want to display to make yourself look good, and is a lot easier to give a web link than giving someone a huge folder with your photos. Unless you have a CD/flash drive for that. But it all depends on how a person would want to present themself, and their material...

yea they are fun.. they seem to get pissed when they notice you takin pics of them and start to chase you... pointers.. where sneakers and have your car ready to go..
-Decent looking female
-Good location
-Someone that knows how to put make up on, that can be yourself. Unless your for the natural beauty.
-Tripod
And to learn how to shot the person, look at shots from Nigel from America's Next Top Model for ideas, and make up magazines, and so on.
That should start you off.

I have done some playing around, but the best time you can have is with a fun person (The Model). If your doing it with a friend then better. You would rather have a, having a good time smile then. Just having to put one on for the shot. Just have fun with it.

I haven't done a whole lot of model shooting, mostly automotive, but I'm getting more into it.
Like Burianstan said if your just starting out shoot friends. It will be alot easier during the shoot.
If the person is shy shoot indoors.
If their skin isn't the greatest stay away from the close ups unless your good with the clone/heal tool.
Watch america's next top model for poses and how the model's carry themselves. I know thats the only reason i watch the damn show. God I can't stand tyra and her huge forehead.

In the end keep shooting and learning. Remember what you did wrong and change that.
