I'm going 4agze

FWD Corollas ftw!

--I'm keeping my Corolla. I know I keep on changing my mind very often, its a nasty habit. But I realized the most efficient thing for me to do regarding my car is keep it and stick a 4agze in it. Maybe I'll toss in a 3sgte later, but for now, a 4agze will do. It would be too much of a hassle to sell my car and then start from scratch, so just to update everyone; I'm keeping my car, and you'll see it sliding in events once again very soon.

To be honest with you, I was never interested in making or having a car that was RWD. Maybe that will change in the future, but converting a car to AWD or RWD is rather rough -- I was considering getting a Mazda 323 to convert to AWD, and you have to cut the floorpan and make some holes for stuff to fit, and thats almost the same scenario with the Corolla / Camry's of my car's generation. I honestly like FWD. Just not auto and little horsepower. So I thought of selling the car to pull an "easier" swap (Hondas do not apply; I feel they're overdone and I rather like to "explore") but I think I'll save money if I just keep the car anyway and stick a 4agze rather than a 2.0l 3sgte. But I'll perhaps worry about another car or engine after I get a degree. my father told me he's gonna reward me with $15,000 "if" I graduate from a college. Talk about motivation.

Awesome idea hun. I think since (from my knowledge of you so far) that your more proficient in toyotas anyway. But in anycase, that will be an extremely nice swap. The whole idea of converting to rwd would be, in my opinion, a waste of your time since your not so concerned with it as well as the time and money that it takes would only be a waste in the end because your going to end up getting another car anyway. But ultimately, Im very happy for you and I wish you the best of luck with your decision.

Thanks Lebbet :), yea, I do know more about Toyotas than any other make so far, and though I really do want punishable amounts of horsepower, I guess I can't invest more than I can even afford for right now at least. Toyota power, niggas! FWD fo' lyfe!

oh no problem man, sorry if I came on too strong, I just love FWD, least drivetrain losses and bountiful understeer altogether. :D

To convert an AWD car to RWD... I know it would make you lose power, but to jankly do it... Couldn't you just take the FW driveshaft out.... It would only make the front wheels not spin... I am not sure if it is like a 4wd positraction or somethin though... ( Like how both tires have to be spinning in one direction or they go opposite ways... )

Interesting to think about though. I know that the Project Orange Subareu WRX STi is a RWD conversion...

You would gain power. AWD uses more horsepower (about 24%) so freeing up two tires from spinning will give you more wheel horsepower. FWD tends to have the least drivetrain loss. Some AWD Subarus and Eclipse guys convert their cars to RWD for that reason. AWD isn't bad, but each drivetrain has its pros and cons. This is a really helpful article to compare them all.

The man with the fwd Toyota will be keeping it, its a happy day. . .for me atleast :) . We dont have many Toyotas out there, just a few here and there. Yeah man I think I said something awhile back about swapping a 4agze in your car. I'm telling you just do a little suspension work and engine swap (4agze plus some bolt ons) you'll have a nice handling car, with nice power and you'll be different than everyone else. It wont take much parts and $ to make a 4agze have 180hp to the wheels and about 160torque.

P.S. Any help you need with info, just PM me. I studied just about every 4AG to see which I will choose in the future.

Thanks man, I fully appreciate it, and yes, its a happy day. Hey, I can assure you it'll be a happy week of Honda genocide as well after that swap is done. :-D

I cant really hate on Hondas I started out with them, their my roots in motorsports and car tuning. I still drive one for my daily driver. But I'd love to see the face of some ricer once your car just passes him by.

Ditto, i don't hate them, just the posers that think unnecessary noise equals horsepower; it seems a great amount of them they just happen to drive hondas. I do llike the late model hatchback myself -- but yes, the posers will be pwned, surely.
