Importing a car.

I want to import a RHD 89+ MKIII Supra. I want one like crazy. I found 1 and to ship it here (miami) itll be just under 5gs. but what needs to happen then? I know customs is a b*tch and it takes an ungodly long time but Im going to do it somehow. What is the appx. cost to get it titled for the U.S.? and register it? any and all info will be great. thanks. and no flaming pls.

p.s. Ive looked into this for a while now just info here pls.

IF ANYONE IN THE BIZ CAN HELP ME DO THIS PLS LET ME KNOW.

i know you would have to get DOT approved windshield and possibly a side impact bar on your doors... i know when i tried importing a skyline those where some of the things i had to do. but i may be wrong

Ive found that is true but most japan cars have the same glass as we do. I knew a guy who use to import when I had no money, and he said it was rare he had to change glass. but the emmisions will be a bugger im sure.

its expensive as hell not only do u pay the cost of the car but duty taxes(or some kind of tax) thats like 70% plus shipping and i dont think port will release the car unless its approved or something

You won't get it. Drag might help. expect to leave a large deposit. Registration is about 5K. Car cost, plus shipping, plus labor and the shops fee.

heres what ya do but a mkIII supra convert to RHD its gonna be way less then importing one

I just want a jdm Real rhd. even if it takes a few years. I can get it here to miami for 5k. Its just has to pass dot. smog etc. but I need an importer to do it. Well /thread I guess. Oh and on the 2jz comment. I have 2 mk3's at the moment If I get the RHD it will be a 2jz swap If not then one of my 2 will get the 2j.

I know the man to get what you want.

JDM RHD MK3, fully legal, good price, no hoops to jump through, no bullshit.
