is the tranny a dohc or sohc

i got a free tranny from a frined that got a car with no motor how would i be sure that the tranny that i have is dohc or sohc?

bellhousing is different in some minute way, it fits the same though... now if it has a hole at the top of the tranny where it meets up to the engine block for the Crank sensor than you have a s14 tranny and you can just block it off with silicone
