Hey guys i have a question, im going to be getting another 240 pretty soon. I want to start drifting on the track and get better, but heres my question, would i be able to drift a basically stock 240 without lsd and would i have enough power to get it around the track? i am going to get a j30 probably a month from now but would i be able to drift it? thanks

yes a stock KA can drift, yes you need an lsd/welded diff, yes you should buy coilovers before modding your engine.

yea pretty much stock a 240 is a great start for drifting but get a lsd or get a welded diff, ill sell u my z32(vlsd) diff with axels if i ever decide not to be lazy and take it out

ok thanks. Wat type do u recomend?

ill let u kno if i will

im in a bone stock ka with suspension and welded diff. its difficult but ull get use to it and when you go sr it will easier. and j30's go retarded after a while so when ur j30 gives out at 10000 miles welded it.

ok would u have to go harder into the turns? And when i decide to buy turbo, i kno its what u pay for but does the ebay kits really differ than lets say greddy or turbonetics?

cuz im looking to boost 7-12 lbs

Fuck a j30. Just get your open difff welded. Welded is much better than a j30. Its ALWAYS locked, once a j30 heats up, it does not really lock up that well after. If your getting a 240 to drift, start off with a welded diff and start working on your suspension. You can pick up some used coils for a few hundred... Oh and def do suspension and brakes and shit before you even think about the idea of going boost.

buy a 2way lsd and new coilovers from Megan for like 700$ and you're set for any event in SFL that you'd be able to drive at

yea thats not a problem?

thats why you get a 2way lsd and coilovers and by the time you get better at it, you can afford turbo stuff

and you can just get j30/q45 front calipers and redrill their rotors to 4lug and save even more money until you decide what you wanna do with your car

J30s are garbage. Their gearing is going to make your slow KA even slower. I'm personally trying to learn open diff first. A lot of people have been telling me that if you learn open, then welded will be super easy god mode once you get it. But yeah, welded>open>J30 for noobs.

just stay 4 lug rock se's cut ur springs get a welded and learn how to slide and when u get better start buying 5 lug suspension arms coils and what ever else u want to buy

You can but it takes some skill. I slid Desoto with stock suspension and open diff. I failed horribly for the most part. I'm waiting on my second car to sell so I can buy coilovers and a fixed back bucket seat. Those were two things I felt could help me improve the most.

I would probably cut a couple coils off the springs to lower your CoG a little. But if you must, you could learn on stock stuff until you save money for coilovers.

Oh, and you'll look like a retard for being the tallest car at a drift event. I certainly felt like one lol.
