My car's going bye-bye

FWD Corollas ftw!

Yo guys, I know it's been a bit since anyone's even seen me, and I'm sure I made some sort of impression on people by bringing an underpowered FWD Corolla and doing what I can with it -- but unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to have to sell it. As much as I loved the little sedan and its unsuspecting roar from the intake, I'm gonna go for another car. I have ambitions of buying a '90-94 Mazda 323 hatchback and converting it to AWD, or a Ford Festiva and installing a Mazda B6T motor that generates promising results. We'll see what time and money do for me, but let me tell you, the idea of a 13-second Festiva that gets 40 mpg sounds very appealing to me.
I've had some good times with this car, and I could only hope that in future events people will still know me by driver and not by car. It'd suck to be a new face again!

Good luck! The Mazda motor is a powerful thing!

yeah man good luck, and i have always been interested in the 323s, i was actually looking at one for a daily. keep us informed of the project.

That's the support I appreciate form this forum, you guys will definitely know how hatever I choose turns out because I'll be "testing" it just as I did with my Corolla at the SFL-affiliated events. I'm just deciding on whether I want the 323 or the Festiva. The Festiva is a penny-pincher's dream - it gets about 45 mpg and I hear insurace is cheaposaurus. however, the styling and AWD / Rally potential of the 323 is something I do not want to miss out on. Time to think. I'll keep you all posted.

man that car will be missed and the fun times at the events also...keep us updated on your new project when you can!
