So I need to re-spray the corner of my rear bumper, my fenders, and I also wanted to respray my roof since the paint in it is fading horribly. From what I can tell my car (93 240) uses nissans "aztec red". I figured I'd just buy a spray gun and some paint and thinner and learn as I go.

Do I just buy the paint online? what do you guys use when you need to touch-up oem paint? I found this website http://www.automotivetouchup.com and its $50 for a pint...

Depends if u want good paint or cheap shit PPG paint is really good but expensive . So for the money and time it might be cheaper to take it to mako .I spend 250 on paint and clear just to paint my bike ..so is up to how many bills u looking to spend

Alright I'll be honest Im looking for a cheap alternative. I don't need to spray my entire fenders, just a few inches where the paint bubbled when I used a heat gun to roll my fenders (I also need to fix a small bump in there with bondo). The bumper also has a scratch, but its not like Im rocking different color body panels and need to do my whole car.

Ive seen those roll-on 80 dollar diy paint jobs that look amazing, and Im betting that this being a drifting forum a lot of people fix their scratched up bumpers or sideskirts themselves....and if I can buy a spray gun and at least paint my bumper and do a decent job, I'll feel like Ive learned something new.

I'd love to rock a new paintjob but right now Im just leaning towards the DIY route....its at least better than bubbled up paint no?

So yeah any cheaper yet decent alternatives for paint or is expensive-ass paint the only way to go....?

the colors are gonna be off a bit when you spray with new paint next to old weathered paint. if youre gonna do a small area , look for a paint shop that will pressurize cans for you. itll be pre-mixed so you dont have to figure it all out. as mentioned i would just with a black roof. the color difference is gonna be very noticeable if you paint it aztec since its a large panel. also keep in mind, red is one of the hardest colors to paint with.
