No pressure in clutch pedal

Due to a broke clutch master cylinder piston and semi fuked up slave, i decided to re-do my whole clutch system.

I went out and bought:
new clutch master cylinder
new clutch slave cylinder
new slave cylinder hose
new clutch pedal
a clutch hardline (the one that connects from the slave cylinder hose to the master cylinder) since i cut my old one in half

I bolted all the pieces back In, in this order:

Clutch pedal > then clutch master > hardline to clutch master > hardline to slave cylinder hose> hose to slave cylinder > slave cylinder to tranny.

my problem is that i'm getting no pressure in my clutch pedal. it sits pressed down and i have to hold it up w/ my hand. i've poured about half a bottle of dot 3 brake fluid in the master and have kept it filled and still nothing.

I can the clutch pedal and see brake fluid splash out of the bleeder valve on the slave every couple of pumps but i've already used up half a bottle of brake fluid and don't know wtf is going on.

can someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong...i feel like an idiot.

you need to bleed it more! -press down on pedal, open bleeder, release pressure. close bleeder, lift up pedal. REPEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

u need 2 people to do this (unless u have a speed bleeder)

damn i figured but shit thats a lot of fluid and i only have half a bottle left.
but i'm gonna try that right now.

one more question.

should i be doing this while the car's on or off?

the car doesnt need to be on lol, do what he said 2 ppl, pump the pedal like 3 times and on the 3 stroke hold it down, on the bleeder side u want to open it very quickly once u see the pressure die close it back up or ull reintroduce air into the system, without the clutch dampening box it should bleed in 2 secs, if it doesnt recheck all ur fittings and make sure theyre tight and not leaking

If you have the clutch dampener box yank that shit right out. If not then get someone to help you. Sometimes in the frustration of trying to bleed it yourself and going back and forth you forget to pump the pedal or close a bleeder valve all the way and you let air into the line.

open the bleeder and pump the pedal till a good amount of fluid comes out then proceed to bleed as normal, shouldnt have a single problem

thanks for the much appreciated help guys!

after carefully following each and every one of you guys's directions and the pedal still wasnt coming up all the way i said wtf, got under the steering wheel for another check to make sure everything was on correctly.

i then put my OLD master cylinder and my new one side by side and saw that i forgot to adjust the bolt on the pushrod part that pins on to the pedal. i adjusted it to almost the end, re-bled the system and it worked like a charm within 5 minutes.

yeeeeee:bigthumbu

thanks again guys. now it's time to put my interior back in
