its a very common problem alot of people do that.maybe ur fuel lines are backwards

yeah if everything else is good ^ thats prob your best bet. change them and try using some starter fluid if it starts with starter fiuld then you might have a fuel problem.
this happen to a friend of mine that just swapped his motor ...we changed the hoses and it started check that out
you didn't mess with the distributor?? because if it was removed and reinstalled it could be 180'd out, other than that I really can't think of anything if the injectors are spraying and the spark plugs are good.
the car will run without the maf but only rev till 2 something it will be in safe mode. i would pull your plugs and check them to make sure there not fouled this same thing happened to me and i narrowed it down to a fried ecu, it just puts to much fuel into each cylinder.
i have a sohc and my freinf have a dohc and both turn off when the maf is unplugged, do u know what that means?
