lower the tranny to replace the starter?

'96 240sx, Auto tranny

wtf? i can lay down under the car (not jacked up or anything) and basically feel all around the starter.. but the repair manual says i have to lower the tranny to do this operation.



wise words before i try to replace my starter?

i mean i put my starter on when doing my 5 speed swap on two of my cars after the tranny was already in place so i dont think its necessary

You DO NOT have to lower the tranny to replace the starter. Just crawl under the car and gitrdone.

MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECT THE BATTERY! Jack up the car and ive yourself plenty of space. Use a Lift or Jack Stands to secure the car. After that it is pretty straight forward if you got basic tools and common sense.

no you dont have o but i think they mean undo the tranny mount so its eaisier to get to
