Rpm Sticking

ok heres the deal.... when i start my car it idles fine, but when i rev it up a bit the rpms go up fine but coming down is the problem, it will stick around 2000 for a second or two then come down gradually. the same thing happens when im driving and im coming to a stop, when i push in the clutch the rpms jump to 2000 then slowly come down, ive played with the iacv and the distributor. nothing is really helping, i also asked some friends and a few of them have the same problem, so if anyone has the answer please help :bigthumbu

na ford escape, uve seen my dads car, i drive it all the time

my car goes up to 1500, i'll clutch in and brake and woosh my rpms hit 1500 then down slowly.
I can tell you why mine does, it's an auto ecu, in a car that was auto. as for your situation i dunno.

have you tried lubing the accelerator cable? (wd40)
