S14 v-mount conversion?

I want to go v-mount but need a bit more info. Like how the radiator and intercooler was mounted. Does anyone know any s14 v-mount build threads or other sites or pics that could give good info. Thancks.

This is how a V mount is setup, i wouldnt recommend doing this setup unless you can weld and fabricate yourself, or have the money to pay someone to do it.

I would recommend, like the people above to do a Mid mount setup, its alot cheaper, easier and basically the same thing except the radiator is in the stock location.

damn that s13 is sexy

Mid mount was my original plan, but the only reason I want to go v-mount is so the radiator is getting direct air.

You wont notice a difference, and as long as your intercooler doesnt have 70% of the fins bent in and you dont have the AC condenser in the way, your radiator will get plenty of air. essentialy the V mount is more effecient, but its going to be expensive seeing you need a custom radiator and alot of fab work to make it work.

If you go midmount, why not put a fan on the intercooler as well, i've seen a few set ups like that. that way your getting air pushed through the intercooler into the radiator and getting air from your fans on your radiator.

correct me if I'm wrong but don't Aero-k have v mounts. there in sunrise. i'd hit them up if u what some ideas or help? they are a shop as well.

^^They run mid-mounts. V-mount is really nice, but it's a lot of work. It has to be ducted really nice to work right. So there is a lot of cutting, welding, making stuff, and sheet metal work going on. Along with radiator hoses and getting a vented hood. My car is awesome with v-mount, but if I had an s-chassis I'd probably just do mid-mount.

I had a midmount.

Cooling was a problem for me.

I always had cooling problems though.

My intercooler core was also really fucked up. haha.

thats a good idea to run a fan on the intercooler, that way u wont have any issues with the mid mount

I had the idea that if I did midmount I could do some sheat metal work and make a duct, so the air is forced through the the intercooler and rad. Kinda how v-mount works.

pics of ur setup!!!

This is right after I did it......just like that and it runs cool as fuck.....drifting the temp doesnt past 170

u dont need any ducting......it cools just fine like that
