sr20 transmission limit

either way your asking something that cant really be answered... what if your tranny wasnt taken care of? maybe yours can only handle 170ish... and maybe mine can take 300... which is what i have seen is about the average limit

Sr Trannies Fuckin Suck I Blow Them Repeatidly. But THen Some People Like Estie They Last For Years So I Think Its Luck Of The Draw. And driving style takes it toll as well.

lmao.! but yea he's right sr tranny's are not the strongest around. it all depends on the abuse that have been thrown at them too. i got mine and blew it a week later. now if you're worried look into ppg gears. those shits will hold anything you throw at it.
 
I don't know which one! FWD, RWD, 5spd, 6spd, NA SR, TURBO SR, swapped into other vehicle you have to take the weight into account, be a little more specific my friend were not Miss cleos forum.

where can i find more info on ppg gears i need to build a real trans tired of changing them
 
i was thinking of 250 to the wheels. it should hold up, right. the gears are pfitzner performance gearbox just google it
 
wow ur right. they are very expensive/ z32 is way less than half that price complete. i think that would be the best option.

I think mine might be on its way out. Its started to whine realll bad in 1st-3rd. Im probally(no dyno time yet) makin like 325 to the wheels on the boost im running. Its lasted for 2 years of me driving it. year and a half of events every months and the last 5-6 months on the power I have now.
 
They crap out around 400 WHP also depends on the way you treat the tranny obvious if you granny shift it will last alot longer compared to banging gears crazy down shifting and power shifting etc.
 
things that break trannies.

1 sick unsprung or multiple plate clutches.
2 solid drive shaft + above.
3 shit driving
4 not fully engaging gear
5 time/abuse.

what i run is act stage 4?? (6 puck sprung/ hd press plate),b&m short shifter , solid(SOLID) enging/tans/subframe, and stock drive shaft. shit is fucking sweet!!! no tire hop. just power(280ish) down!!
