ok so finished the swap and now it wont start. motor is getting fuel. checked power to starter with test light and is as well. starter and fuse box is grounded and all fuses are fine. i need some suggestions. thanks
not turning over. the wiring harness was done when i bought the motor. i relocated the battery to the back with a 4 gauge wire. spliced the 3 main white colored fuse box wires and hooked it up to the battery. the alternator feed is connected too. when i turn the key i hear a clicking noise from both fuse boxes and fuel running through the lines
Try jumping the starter Directly. If you can not get to it safely with it on the motor take it off and Bring it to Discount. They will inspect it for free.
***DO NOT try to jump it on the floor. It will Torque and JUMP like a 25 lbs hunk of Metal that it is.***
If your starter is good then there is a problem else where. Who did your wiring Harness? Was the Car Running Prior to the install?
Also if the starter is working when jumped directly you can try a Remote switch(also sold at Discount) that why you can crank and make sure the motor starts and runs before you tear apart the whole harness.
yea the car was running before with that same harness. im going to take it off today and go to discount to get the test. then i will continue from then on. thank you guys for ur input
you know what that is very helpful rob thanks.. the car was manual. now as soon as i turn key the reverse lights turn on. so maybe the tranny is not recognizing it is in neutral. the question is where the hell is that switch lmaoo
you have to jump two wires...under the fuse box in the passanger side.... heavy throttle has a write up on it...i belive there are 2 plugs. one plug has a black/yellow and white, the other plug is black and white... i really cant remember..lol
