too loud?

gotta question. my catalytic converter is getting pretty clogged as time comes, so i want to gut it. but its my daily and i really dont want it loud. it has header, stock cat, 3 inch exhaust. pretty quit i fkin love it. wondering if i gut the cat, will it be extremely loud or just a little louder or what?

more rumble... it all depends on your exhaust tip
 
all in the exhaust tip, look at matts car compared to mine... HIS sounds amazing dont get me wrong, but im much quieter....
 
i got no cat 2.5 exhuast with a flowmaster and its loud as fuck sounds rad at full throttle and it back fires alot but i love that shit but i got a dohc with single cam pistons and other shit so its loud as fuck any ways

well i dont really want too loud. and its a legit apexi n1 the tip is 4.5". so i guess ima just do it see what happens. thanks

it wont be loud, just more rumble. 240s arent loud unless you are really trying to make them loud. aint a civic ! lol
 
the only thing i dont like about gutting the cat is i've noticed alot of people that do it their cars start doing that like ripping sound...i dont like that i perfer low and deep sound more than a rip
 
just get a test pipe for like 20 bucks and if u dont like it throw the cat back in, i dont see how u are gunking ur cat up tho, ur stock unless u have eliminated emmisions even then ur stick STOCK! if u wanna cut the cat out i would sounds way better plus you have a really expensive good quality tip it will sound awesome... PERSONAL OPINION!

emissions was the first thing i did when i got my car. very first thing right after wash lol. and its been getting progressivly worse since iv gotten the car, i can tell because it has a lot of hiccups in idle. and the 20 i kinda dont wanna spend stoopid shit on wanna keep it for the coilover fund. and whats teh point of trading all i do is break the ceramics in the cat. its easy as hell lol. well thanks peps for the opinions ima just gut it. worst case, ill buy the $20 test pipe.

its 3" piping from the cat back soooooo lol. no boost either. dont ask why, the guy threw it in the deal for my car

you might have other problems, besides like almost all 240's have a gutted cats yours might already be gutted an du also run the risk of exhaust leaks that get in your car.............it smells like cherries lol:bigthumbu

just bought a test pipe egay $20 wwoooooooottt!!! i gutted the cat today, it actually was clogged in one area, but didnt change the hiccups. w.e. still gotta get it running right anyways.
 
ok fair warning if u gut the cat its like a hollow coffee can under ur ass and all the exhuast drones into the car so fuckin annoying replace it with pipe i did both and learned the hard way
