Top Boost on a SR20

Since the other forum was locked I wanted to add a post as far as safe boost on a bone stock SR20. All the info I have I verified while tuning my last 240 on a Dynojet Dyno with the wide band air/fuel meter system hooked up. With out any changes not even a FPR the stock system can handle a decent amount. When I ran at 20 lbs. the stock injectors don't go static until 5500 RPMs (static meaning they can't increase there output any further). The car will adjust to most boost increases on it's own since the mass air flow senses the increase in air being taken in by the turbo and the ECU ups the injector output on it's own. 12 lbs. like mentioned in the last post is easily in the range of the stock system and it should be able to handle from 16 to 17 lbs before the injectors start going static. The stock turbo can make 20 lbs. but its only efficient to the 16/17 range any ways so it fits pretty well with the stock system. The only thing you really need for proper tuning past 17 lbs. is larger injectors and either a tune for them or something you can tune your self. I prefer tuning over fuel pressure adjustments because the car can be a lot me consistent like that, how ever no matter how much you up the fuel pressure, the injectors can't put out more than their maxim ability so you'll have to replace those at least.

After I did all the base pulls on the stock system I changed the turbo out to a larger one and the only fuel system changes I made was larger injectors and a Apex PowerFC. After a little tuning the fuel system was perfectly stable at 20lbs and ran great until I sold the car.

Proper tune on a mostly stock red top at 20 lbs. gives you 250HP and 285 Torque with a really steep torque curve which gives nice acceleration.

Hopefully this will save some one the trouble of asking next time though people don't really search forums first so I doubt they'll find it lol

Dyno graphs or it didnt happen

really dude? like 3-4 ppl in the passed 2 days have said that they've done this... i guess we're all lying. it's a conspiracy that Moe and Chris Jackson started to get ppl to buy more SRs.

Edit: Am i allowed to say "Moe" on this forum anymore?

My last 240 was tuned and had injectors but it was a stock MAF and it handled 20 lbs. Which was 250HP just fine. Well I also had the higher flow fuel pump but I figure that's a given even if your just swapping the SR in there on stock boost since the OEM pump isn't made for turbo engines

Why even bother? 1 bar yields 230~240 on a dynojet and you don't have worry about anything.

yeah, for like non competition drifting, 240whp is like, sooo sweet. Enough to do pretty much whatever you want, but you arnt struggling to try and find grip, and you can run like cheap tires and have a great time.
