tranny fulid?

wut kind of tranny and diff fluid should i use for a red top sr? some ppl say redline shockproof but some say its bad for my tranny. wut do you all think?
 
redline is NOT bad for your tranny.... just use a good synthetic gear fluid, read up on different manufactors and pick your favrotie one.
 
REDLINE IS BAD!!! IT IS NOT A GL 4 Fluid~! YOU NEED NEED NEED(I can't strss that enough) A GL4 FLUID! Royal Purple is the best choice! They have it in stock at Murrays and Dynamic Turbo! What ever you use make sure it IS GL4!
 
cool thanks but is there a certian weight i should use. is the tranny fluid the same as the diff fluid? as in can i use the same type in both?

Just for the record, redline dose sell a gl4 fluid called MTL (Manual Transmission Fluid).

If you use their gear lube that is supposed to go in your differential (which is gl5) it will wear your synchros prematurely.

I had strait MTL in my transmission. Because I dont know how to shift a manual transmission I would grind gears while upshifting with the quickness. I refilled my transmission with 1\2 redline shockproof oil and 1\2 mtl and it shifts faster easier with this fluid combo. ( I dont care about my transmission, ill put in my extra one if I break it)
