Welded Diff on a Budget.

Well today I was working on a Infiniti Porsche Type S totally stock and the guy wanted a welded diff but only had a couple of bucks. So we ended up going to the auto parts store and bought some JB WELD, LOCTITE, and Canola oil.

Needless to say, it turned out awesome! We drove it down a 20mile mountain pass with no problems. Driving up was a different story.

If you are planning on trying this yourself, the best mixture we found to be useful was 3 tubes JB WELD, 2 tubes of Loctite and a gallon on Canola oil. If you want to give extra protection against friction, you could possibly add some Turtle Wax.

LMAO. I am waiting for some broke new guy to read this that doesn't know a damn thing about cars and actually try it.

PLEASE IF YOU ATTEMPT THIS POST PICS SO WE CAN ALL LAUGH AT YOUR STUPIDITY OR BOREDOM!:laugh::laugh:

Don't use cannola oil, I used Crisco and packed it like a wheel bearing, the higher viscosity of the Crisco helps to reduce chatter in your new 3 way LSD welded diff + no fluid leaks :bigthumbu

when I read the thread, I was like "what the Fuck?" budget welded???

but yeah.........gay.

qucik steel > jb weld you really dont want to go cheap on a diff. so make sure you use quick steel or lab metal, and remeber it's all about the prep work.

I prefer dried up bazooka bubble gum and olive oil. Plus, you get to read a comic while the gum dries.

u buy a gallon of liquid steel and poor it in instead of the oil and then go for a 20 min drive, let cure over night and BAM! locked diff

if u lock the diff on a ff ur gonna end up into a wall in no time, nothing personal:bigthumbu
