ok i am gonna change my front calipers to a pair of 26 mm z brake calipers. i will be using the stock rear brakes. on my s13
What would be the best z32 brake master cylinder to choose from?
i also have an automatic brake booster which i heard was larger than manual transmission s13s.
theres many sizes. 15/16, 1, 1 1/6 etc?
which would be the best pedal feel?

s13 manual transmission uses a brake master cylinder with a 7\8ths bore, automatics used a 15\16ths bore, and the z32 used a 1 1\16ths bore.

Ive driven z32 front brakes on a 7\8ths brake master cylinder and sure the pedal was softer but you were still able to stop the car fine. Its just adapting to a new pedal feel. I actually prefer the softer pedal with the stainless steel brake lines.

Leave it 7\8ths and drive it, see how you like it and if you think you cant live with it then change the master cylinder. I suggest upgrading to stainless steel brake lines front and rear while you are changing the brakes.

i have read that if you are going to run z brakes in the front and stock ones in the rear, it best to run z31 master cylinder.

i dont know anything about a z31 master cylinder, unless you made a typo and ment to say z32.

Some drivers are used to the pedal feel they have with stock brakes and stainless steel lines, it only took me a few days to become familiar with the softer pedal. It takes less pedal pressure to stop, just a little more travel. Its not like the pedal is bottoms out.

search fresh alloy if you want to see the technicality of the front and rear brake bias when you are changing calipers.

Goto the Sport Compact Car Website and look at Project Silvia when they did the brake write up. They tell you exactlly what you need.
