whats up people i got my car with no temp gauge and a month later i put an auto meter one on and noticed that my car is running on 210 which is 3/4 of the way up even if im on the express way going fast it wont go down from there..if i pass 4k rpms it would go a bit higher ... i know its not normal but what would cause this to run so hot? i used the same sensor that was on the car just used the gauge ... i have a 95 ka24de with "90k+" from what i was told ... i also have an unknown fan running to cool it down..

oh and i noticed that my rad is loosing coolant but not dramatically just a little and i see no leaks.. i work at a lube shop and i have seen under my car about 9874239874298 times a day

loosing coolant with no leaks? Either its magically dissapearing, you HAVE A LEAK, or your headgasket is blown.

edit :: is it possible to remove the thermostat ? i did them to my cutlass but dono if u could do it to a nissan

thermostat in most cases but 210 is about where the factory wanted it thats right if you want it lower remove t-stat ot buy a lower temp one

not necessarily, depends on how bad it is. sometimes it will shoot up like a geyser other times it will bubble massively like the air is being bleed out of the system but it never stops and is consistent.

^^ You have the rev the engine with the cap off. If it bubbles or comes out. There's your problem. Also look for oil in coolant or visa versa.

yes its always possible to run without t stat. your car will take longer to warm up. possible down side would be in the winter when you need heat, yea its gonna take a while.

removing thermostats is dumb, it hurts your car, your car has to reach a certain opertaing temp to funtion correctly, and when you remove it it will never reach that temp, and you will be wasting gas losing power and all kinds a shit, but to each his own.

well all i really need to know is if 210 is the factory running temp ? i dont want to take it off cuz i would have to put new gasket or silicon on that chit ..but if i have to then i would ... didnt know it would make a bad diff it usually worked better on the cutlass :/

im willing to bet more times than not it will reach operating temps, just takes a lot longer. im pretty sure the radiator constantly flowing alone isnt enough to keep temps below 210. by that time the fan will have kicked on. if it is considerably below normal operating temps the spray pattern of your injectors wont be optimal(lack of atomization) hence the loss in fuel economy and possibly some power.

my fan is on as soon as i turn on the car i have a switch to it wich i never really turn off..i will for get if i turn em off ... and if im on the express no mater if i have the fan on or not it will still go to 210

have you bleed the cooling system because if you don't it creates air pockets inside the block witch cause hot spots

never heard of such thing ill research ... well at my job i have a machine that flushes the motor running ...i connect the two hoses and have to motor running so it takes out the old and puts in the new fluid ..maybe thats what ur talking about ?
