I don't see the problem. If your too fucking poor to have a cage and firesuit, then you cant goto the event, sucks for you, end of story. He has a right to be mad how everything went down.

WHOA really? REALLY NOW?

If you want to be invited to a PROFESSIONAL event, and put on a PROFESSIONAL SHOW then man up and be PROFESSIONAL!

IF you are serious/good enough, to think you are DESERVING of FREE track time and a REAL ROAD COURSE then you should understand that IMAGE is part of the game. Get a cage, get a firesuit, and drive for the crowd. Anyone complaining they have to wake up and arrive in the a.m. needs to get their priorities straight. Get the car running/ready the day BEFORE and not at 12 noon that day. Showing up late is a slap in the face to event staff/fans and is very disrespectful to their efforts to give you that track time.

NO ONE is MAKING you drive this event. If you want the priveledge, then be responsible and show up on time. I'll tell you what, IF FD/D1/NOPI held up all its rules, you cannot even LEAVE until the LAST BATTLE is over. Its UNPROFESSIONAL and UNFAIR to the PAYING CUSTOMERS (spectators) who came to look at cars and watch them. When you are invited to drive a demo you are there for the FANS first, and yourself LAST. Whatever issue you have with the event/staff/track/car, remember, people are watching you- some wishing they were as lucky as you to drive a race car, on a race track.

Don't even try to throw up the fact that you do or don't have sponsors for the 'expenses'. Personally, I bought everything for my car myself before sponsors and I'm a poor ass mofo.

Stop crying and put in the work to be respected as a professional, you'll thank those people who pushed you to clean up your act. Otherwise, stick to practice events and don't drive these demos.

Someone is seeing the big picture....:)

gsracer:

"I am a nobody here and in the sport of drifting. I dont claim to be anything more than that. Id also like to state that as i have come out to events, ive met lots of people who for the most part where very cool with me and ive tried to be cool to all people ive met as well and have even come to think of some of you as friends ( yes even you moe ). Normally i dont voice my OPINION because it typically gets me in trouble, but i am gonna do just that here and hope none of you think anything less of me for it"

Nothing personal here!!

I was at the drift demo and got a couple pics. I enjoyed it but I wish there was a few more drifters there! The 4 people that were there did a great job, especially dude in the kouki s14. But heres some of the pics I got. :bigthumbu

GSRACER: about the sponsorship thing

you're 100% right that this event alone will not get you a sponsor, but they might take a look at you and talk to you to see what else you do

OR

this event is something that sponsors like to see you HAVE done before. or that you do this in ADDITION to other events. anything 'out of the ordinary practice' is a good event to be a part of for a sponsor to see.

if you get into sponsorship proposals and talking with companies... they dont care if you win, as long as you get eyes on their logo. If you can show a history of being invited to demos, and driving more than 5 events a year, you have a decent shot at getting something. Sure winning helps, but people that never have made top8 in FD still are heavliy sponsored.

yea its just a demo but its exposure for the sport meng... we need good publicity more then anything if we want it to grow in the south here

if u are in motorsports and dont know what drifitng is yet.... you need to hand cuff your hands in between a cinder block and jump head first into a deep pool:bigthumbu

they just wanna see us crash... no more getting the "WORD" out. i'm srry to say but im sure no one cares because there is no official league that legitimizes all of us. "WE"RE DOING IT WRONG"

Moe,

I mean if some 17 year old kid showed up in Vaughn Gittin's Mustang, he sure would look presentable, but would he be allowed in the demo?

If I had a choice on picking you Erik or the 17 year old kid with Vaughn Gittin's Mustang which person would you want me to choose to run a "silly" demo at homestead??

If the entire D1 truck showed up at FARA 20 mins before the demo you would turn them down? Again, not saying that being early doesn't have it's benefits, just that these rules really do seem pointless

If the D1 truck showed up 20 minutes before I would want my money back because I AM PAYING TO SEE THE EVENT I'm a spectator I payed to see an event if the guys are not there to provide entertainment for me I leave and ask for my money back.

I Didn't get a free pass or wasen't forced to watch drifting or road racing

- Erick

PS: And while on this note.... also think of how many drivers you should cap the event at. Great turnout at the last FARA event.... terrible organization on part of the track staff and the peope pairing the drifters. So clearly it didn't seem like there was a lot of preparation for a huge turnout either. And by huge I mean what... 10 drivers?

Please be more specific on the terrible organization and the pairing of the drivers... Cause I did that...

they just wanna see us crash... no more getting the "WORD" out. i'm srry to say but im sure no one cares because there is no official league that legitimizes all of us. "WE"RE DOING IT WRONG"

So you are telling me that we should stop doing events at homestead becuase people want to see us crash and drifting FAILS IN FLORIDA!!! RIGHT???

Has Kevin Phillips drifted homestead before???

Have you ever attended a homestead demo??

Have you see the media and people that come up to me and the drivers wanting to find out more about drifting???

Please correct me if I'm wrong Kevin but HOW WRONG ARE WE DOING THIS???

What can Kevin Phillips tells us drifters to do things the right way!!!!!!!
