flathead screw driver and read the directions on the ecu. write down the codes and then post em here or look em up on nico.com you gotta pull the ecu off the chassy but leave it conected.

it should still start even with a bad maf. sounds more like a huge! vacuum leak....like when the brake booster hose gets disconnected. check the obvious. check spark, fuel, check the codes on the ecu,.... just try it....;)
