Chute definitely caused him to go off. Seems the chute put to much instant drag on the car causing it to probably go light giving the driver no control over the car for a few seconds, and at that speed thats all it takes a few seconds.

For you old school folks I have bad news. Tim Aldrich from Tampa passed away this morning at the young age of 30. He was known by many in the Florida Drift scene and will be dearly missed. No one had a sense of humor like this man, he was one funny dude.
