There must be more to drifting than I thought...

Amen. I feel the best way to defend yourself against that threat of noobism is to reinforce that idiot filter and set yourself apart by expanding your knowledge and experience. --It'll be killing two birds with one stone in my book, if you keep at it and do it for the right reason(s), you'll...

Bladder for you and the rest of the guys...

I agree, I still said it was fast, man. Stupidly so. That's why I (tried to) mention that's perhaps the reason they have low(er) output models; not everyone has the money for the full-on package, and not everyone wants to go as fast. I just think it'd be awesome to rip the streets with the...

Bladder for you and the rest of the guys...

Nice. I don't see the point in lowering the output of the vehicle for cost purposes --- of course it will still be blazingly fast; but I'd rather have the 200+ hp variants... but then again, it's about selling to as wide of an audience as possible that includes people of all budgets and intentions.

Bladder for you and the rest of the guys...

Yea it's beautiful, hard to believe it's powered by just a supercharged Civic Type-R motor... if I have a successful career, I'm definitely gonna invest in one of those. Screw Ferrari when you can have something faster for considerably cheaper (I think the high-end one is about $55,000). I think...

    4AG(Z)E headgaskets, need info

OEM 4AG(Z)E headgasket spec Yo fellas, if things go right, I may be making much "progress" sooner than I can ever expect... but at this point I've been trying to research headgaskets and such and am in need of some info. Would anyone in the forum happen to know the thickness of the 4AG(Z)E's...

    Friday Nite @ DD

It was good to see you guys. Didn't say much because I honestly couldn't recognize many of you out there, and I arrived a bit later on. -However it was nice chillin' (pun intended) with you, Bladder! :D

There must be more to drifting than I thought...

I'm glad you guys feel that way, but I suppose thats why this thread is so great -- everyone who's posted is a true unbiased enthusiast. I had no idea it'd get as many responses as it would, but hey, I'm definitely not complaining. It's evident that there are a lot of purists here, and I hope...

    Gumball anyone?

Amen to that, you'd be surprised at the noise the thing makes. You'd never think it'd be equipped with a 4.0 inline 6. :p But then again, it's not about power. Something liek this is about strategy, because the last time me and Downdrifter did this (we were coming home from the NOPI Nationals...

    Gumball anyone?

His Jeep owns. Big time. And I'll probably ride shotgun with him :p

    this discourages me, personally

:D Indeed. Thanks Lateral, yea, I suppose it's a "to-hell-with-those-who-aren't-open-minded" ordeal. In fact its anyone's loss to restrict themselves from seeing past what they perceive in any case (i.e. those who don't "get" drifting, those who only like American cars, vice versa). And nah...

    Street racing is bad mmmmm'kay

My mistake -- I meant to say that my ambulance ride costed $500, so I had the feeling that it would be probable that an airlift would cost several thousands more.

    Street racing is bad mmmmm'kay

that accident sucks. I was only dreaming of boost at 16. -One day at work, I went into diabetic shock (no joke) and that little ambulance ride to the hospital for them to just give me food (of which either way I'm grateful) alone costed me $500. So I don't doubt that the heli ride could be a...

:p Unless anyone's willing to buy my heap as is. :p Me thinks you're funny, lol. :D Really, I've got too much going for my car to sell it. Having four doors and such an obscure car to begin with does have its insurance benefits you know.

Oh, you bet I will --- and much respect to you. --In that case, I'm looking forward to hanging with you guys at the next event. :) It'll be a while, though, because there are always priorities at hand, but I'm sure you guys will recognize me at the next time I show up.

Yea that cat's awesome man, but I already saw that vid yesterday, lol :) From what I hear, if thats the same car, his setup involves no swaybar in the rear and big tires upfront, whatever the case, I still think its a wicked show. But it's the thought that counts, and i appreciate the...

Ditto, I did much better than I expected at the last event, I only spun out once and throughout the whole day the track varied from damp to dry. I can only hope that the next local event I attend brings just as much diversity and seat time -- I'm gonna request off that day and look forward to...

thanks, soon enough you'll all see me back in action. :) As for that Miata vs. AE86 issue; I'd say it's a bit of a popularity contest. Some people prefer the AE86 because of its accessibility and inexpensive characterisitcs (at least in Japan), and others are recent converts thanks to drift...

    this discourages me, personally

yea, I've just caught up with all the posts again, and since I have no other analogy for it, I guess FF drifting can be compared to racism. You're either for it or against it. And like with racism, you just can't seem to convince anyone's perspective about it. You're either for it or against it...
