Bit comet. Best way to download anything is to get a PC you don't care about and use that to do nothing but download stuff with. If it gets infected / crashes, then it doesnt matter.

Yeah looks a lot like Vista. I never liked that start menu though, I always change it back to Classic. Bothered me that Vista didn't come with Run on the start menu or with HyperTerminal installed by default.

That's what I want to hear. My two machines that run blistering fast on XP slowed to a crawl when I installed Vista. Looking forward to reading what you say after some more time with it.

I don't think they make them brand new. I had a buddy who had one, in terrible condition. Theres like 2 shops that do nothing but completely restore Deloreans, there's like a 2 or 3 year turnaround on it too. EDIT: Looks like they're making them again in 08...

Sounds right to me, Windows 7 is just Vista done right for the most part.

The only things your computer need to boot are RAM, a keyboard and video. Remove parts one at a time, like the harddrives, cd drives, mouse, any USB devices attached etc until you find one that solves the problem. Sounds like it could also be a bad video card, that can cause problems like that...

Too true, just like everything new anyone gets into - it's simply a learning curve. I used to hate XP when it first came out, but that came and went once you get familiar with it. Vista bothered the hell out of me for the first months I had it, I hated how they renamed the Control Panel icons...

It definitely was a step in the right direction, they got a good start with the UAC for security, integrated searching, visual aspects etc.
