This problem is happening to my coworker and he might not be able to make it home so maby someone here would know what to do or whats wrong with it....

-----------------------------------------------

I went to get an oil change last night and when I left the "service engine soon" light came on. I thought nothing of it and figured it was just because I got the oil changed and I would just have my friend clear the code when he gets back later the next day when he gets home.

I drove around for a little bit and then later last night when I was about a half mile from my house my VDC and Slip lights came on and my car stopped wanting to accelerate. I tried to hit the VDC button and it would not turn off, nor would my car rev up if it was in neutral. I managed to slowly get home at like 20mph and tried to turn the car off and reset it. When i turned it back on the lights came immediately back on and the car still would not rev up. You could floor it and it will very very slowly go up to about 2k rpm and that is about it.

I turned off the car and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, came back outside and started it again and it was fine. I brushed it off and tried to think nothing of it and hoped it would work on the way to work in the morning.

So I am driving to work this morning, which is about a 40min drive and it is fine until I get about a mile away and it happens again. I had to drive the rest of the way at 30mph and without stopping since I could not accelerate. I am really lost as to what is going on and would appreciate some help so that I can get home this evening after work, thanks!

Check engine light still on? Some cars diable the Traction control and other features when the CEL is on. Also, call back the company that did the oil change and make a complaint, or take it back to them. They may have broken/unpluged a sensor or something. They may have even beat the fuck out of it in a test drive. The car may be going into a "limp" mode to prevent the engine from revving too high and damaging itself.

You should of went straight back when the Service light went in. An oil change should never cause for that to happen.

need to throw a OBDII scanner on it........it could be anything......the ecu will stop you from accelerating when it shows a number of differrent problems.........
i had that issue when my throttle sensor was failing.......

my350z.com/g35driver.com search the problem, theres at least a hundred threads on the problem with the lights staying on. multiple causes with multiple solutions. thank me later, lol. what are you doing on a drifting forum asking advice on a car that like 2% of us have. :)

Yeah believe it or not I got the same thing on mine because I installed my steering wheel off by a tooth.

I know a lot of other things cause it too so your best bet if going to be my350.com

Pedal position sensor high input. Im almost positive thats it. When that happens turn the car to the on position for @ least 3 seconds then to the off position for 10 seconds. Turn the key and your off. ( it resets the pedal placement ) Its a fucking peice of shit issue that happens on these cars. Especially the track package.

Throttle cables and no traction control FTMFW!

But my car comes with a change engine light :[

He posted it there also and we got more responses here. Besides we should start having more 350z owners on this forum.

Well the reason it revved so low is because it entered into Limp Mode and a scan revealed he had MAF and 2 TPS codes.

If an O2 Sensor did get loose because they are at the bottom of the car where the oil gets changed, would it have come up on the scan?
He's going to try the pedal reset thing and he bought a MAF so I'll post what happens for those who are interested.

vdc also kicks in when the tire size is incorrect make sure you have that right also.

Hi, this is my car that has the problems... I just joined. my tires are still stock sizes, hopefully the maf will fix the problem, but i have a feeling its something else stupid causing the problems.

Simple soultion. Go to autzone borrow there obd2 reader its free. Pull the codes see what it says. DONE.

I already had them pulled, 1 maf code and 2 tps codes... I bought a maf yesterday so hopefully that will fix it.

I checked the codes again today and now I have an ECU code too. The maf code isnt showing up anymore its just the 2 tps codes and the ecu. The code numbers are: P0222 Throttle Position Sensor, P2135 Throttle Position Sensor, and P0605 ECM/ECU / machine said "P0605 Internal Control Module Read Only Memory (ROM) Error". We tried to clear the codes again and now they wont even erase and the car seems to be in permanent limp mode. Also, not that its really a big deal but when i turn my car on now my dvd for the navigation is going crazy trying to read shit when the nav isnt even on.
