This is something interested I discovered with some pro drifters this week and while having the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS for a test drive we noted one huge problem for drifting. The steering angle in the car is horrible and super limited by the front frame rails. I would say stock the car has some of the worst steering angle from the factory I have seen in some time. Since no modification is allowed I will be curious to see how the Conrad Grunewald team combats that issue? What are your thoughts on how they could get this car sliding into action? Perhaps a huge widebody kit and spacing out the wheels? It will be an interesting setup to see at Streets of Long Beach.

looks like hankook needs to become a bigger sponsor, then they will let them modify anything they want

Yeah really ^^ the TC has a supra rear end for fucks sake, i say they just modify it and see what happens. oh, so they get kicked out of FD, then just go to D1.

+1 i think they should lighten up on some of the rules that have been laid down, it's drifting it's a hobby/sport/lifestyle it shouldn't be so restricted sometimes.

badass car though, just like an american to give it NO steering capabilities lmao:laugh:

like wrecked said only way around not being able to cut frame is to space the shit out of it. conceptually the longer wheelbase cars should have less angle than the shorter ones imo.

fixed it for ya. i agree tho, its ultimately a sport for the fans, not for "omg, you adjusted the tire pressure, thats gonna cost you 1000pts."

There is always away to work around things. Modify arms by extending them and getting some decent offset wheels to get as much clearance as possible without touching the frame.

lighten up on the rules? bs. this is supposed to be the top pro series they need to STICK to the rules. You wanna build something crazy then go for it- do demos or practice or other competitions. FD is supposed to be a series where there are limits, EVERY other racing genre has rules and limits to my knowledge and EVERY sport is about the fans enjoyment because without fans- nothing would survive.

there is a reason certain cars aren't out on the drift track, because they simply suck too much to start with. im sure they will find a 'legal' way to make this work.

I still think its gay that fox body mustangs are exempt from competeting in FD

No it should still be limited. They should just enforce it on everyone. If you are one of the top sponsors in FD they tend to "not look" as hard as your car as someone like Matt Powers. The sport has become run by money. So if you put down like $1,000,000 towards a sponsorship and then some privateer just pays the entry fee, im pretty sure there going to take a few glances at youre car compared to the dude that brought the car there pulling it with a mini van.

yeah, what the fuck was the deal with that.
Did that drift patrol guy piss FD off or something?

Yeah he built the gayest car ever and they got pissed. I like fox body mustangs, but god that car sucked.
