gets fuel, gets spark. basically i pulled the rail couple days ago. injector num 3 wasnt spraying. i replaced it and now they all are spraying. hooked it back up. try to start motor and it backfires and motor spins the other way for a split second. i timed the motor perfectly with a timing light but it was before i replaced injector number 3 meaning it was only firing on 5 cylinders. idk if i need to retime it or not? i guess it couldnt hurt but any help is appreciated.

see how strong the spark is, its probally weak, maybe you have a bad ground, or wiring is fucked somewhere since its home made harness.

it aint home made harness. i just added power to the ecu. it still has the 2jz ge engine harness. they are spark plug wires from the junkyard but still they gave spark and it should start the motor...

I will even include a hug with that dollar.

too generous of you. but anyone have any idea what could be causing this? it ran perfectly fine no bogging or anything before i pulled the fuel rail. it had a misfire due to the injector not spraying but i replaced it and now it wont start... when i was at school i pulled the rail and first saw it wasnt spraying. i put the rail back in and drove it home and it wasnt running as good as it was before. it seemed like it had 80hp when i was driving it 3 miles home. stepped on gas and wouldnt go no where. like it was firing on 2 cylinders or something. so i got home and replaced the injector now it wont start...

If it started and ran before you worked on it and now it doesn't. That's means retrace your steps.

Keep it simple stupid

Check everything you did while working on it

Rule number Juan . Check fuses . And don't " I checked fuses before I pulled the rail off" check em again just in case

Sure sounds like the timing is off!! Is this a distributor model or coil? sounds like the plug wires are switched!! firing off time

^+1 shouldnt be back firing if your trying to start it up check the firing order on the sparkplug cables.

i timed the motor b4 i had it running on all cylinders. idk if that makes a difference if the revolutions would be faster? its distributor model. the wires are wired up right but it could be junkyard wires not working well? idk :/

and damian, check fuses for what? if it trys to turn over it should be good. no fuses for anything really besides ecu and alternator.. ill check the ecu management fuse just to be sure tho.

put those good wires i gave you on it. ALSO...check the dist. rotor....again the one on the motor i gave you was brand new. swap it over and see

Have you check your fuses ? Maybe your dome light is out and you don't know it . Safety first . But seriously I'll check fuses just because that's easy and could be a problem . I have checked all fuses and found some blown one an it ended up starting the car . Said abs on it and I was like wtf . But maybe im just a noob
