2jz standealone debate

AEM>Haltech>Greddy emanage ultimate>MapECU 2

price goes accordingly also. personally i would run an emanage ultimate or mapecu 2 for your setup

I said I wanted at least 400 if I could get 600whp with that setup that would be awesome but I don't think I would be able to. And my buddy is also running Gotech on his 7m motor. Ima look into that. Thanks.

also only thing holding you back from ~550 would be your turbo. that motor can handle 550

750cc injectors are silly for 400hp... Are you trying to drown your motor? (joke)
With a standalone and a good ignition set up I.E. new plugs MSD coilpacks n wires
you can be WAY more efficent and wont need 750cc injectors.

Plus im pretty sure the 2jz-gte can make 400 on stock injectors, i know u stated u have a 2j-ge but still, 750's! Could make 650 or more on those...

Anyway, I have been running a Go-tech ECU on my rb, its been nothing short of awesome, i have a few friends who have been running this ecu from my recommendation and thus far they havent had any complaints, and they are on a variety of motors. rbs, 1js, 7m, Bert with the Blue AE86 with the s2k motor runs a Gotech aswell.

As far as capabilities it can do everything any other Full-standalone can do, including run off map sensor, 2 step launch control if ur into that, and so on... JFGI=JustFuckingGoogleIt

Forgot to mention, if u shop the market( ebay, Craigslist) you can find them for pretty cheap.. My buddy just got his for 500. i think they are retailing 1200 new tho.

He has nice wires and ignition already. 750cc injectors are fine. you could run 1000cc injectors if you wanted, that does not matter. You dont need standalone to run map sensor, 2 step, and so on...JFGI ;)

Read up on the mapecu 2 and it also controls timing so I might settle with that. Seems safe and haven't read anything bad about it yet

im watching you eric lol text me i want to know what info you got to share with me. we need our set ups to rape

Saito is on F-Con V-Pro, Nishida is on AEM Version 2. Saito uses a Profec B Spec II for boost control haha.

But yeah man, I agree with homeskillet305. I like the MS because I can easily tinker around with it. But if it wasn't for my friends being wiring genius's I'd be screwed. There are ways to make it a lot easier than I did as well though.

im leaning toward the ms3 system for my 2jz... im on the aussie forums and a few guys are and have been making serious power but with the comforts of street reliability

You won't see 600 safely atleast with that turbo, you would need at least a 6262 and barley make it. I would tune a tricycle with a mega squirt lol.

Who said anything about 600hp? He's looking for low 400's... That turbo is tits for that power goal. And in the right hands MS3 is an amazing tool. Get yourself a working wideband and the car will basically perfect the tune itself with VEAnalyze.

In one of his posts he said maybe later on go for 600. Perfect the tune itself?!?!? Hahahahahahahaha

dude 550 adj fpr n safc is aslow budget as u can get and it will put u at 400hp

He's right. My friend's 1jz is on 440's and a t70 w/20lbs of boost and he's at pefect A/F. Start off simple. Don't make your build longer because you wanna start big.

piggy backs dont advance or retard your timing which can be dangerous if the stock ecu is reading its running lean or rich and retard timing at high rpms.

Should have done a 1.5 Jz so you wouldn't have had to worry about the ge ecu's weak timing. Go map ecu/stinger/megasquirt whichever . They all do the same job, the tuner makes the difference.

Actually AEM's FIC controls timing and is a piggy back. Only thing is, it has no knock sensor output so you would have to have a tuner that already has a similar setup MAP that he can transfer to yours, or he must have a shit load of JZ exp.

I want more than 400. I'm just saying at least 400! People read.

Then buy a HalTech/AEM both systems will work very well for low HP applications and give you enough parameters that once you start making more power it can easily be adjusted and fine tuned.

im stuck between MAPecu 2 or emanage ultimate. both can adjust timing and i know a plug and play one selling now for 650.

I no nothing about the map ecu but the emanage has very limited tuning and is not even worth it. I'm Haltech till I die, but you can find a used aem in the $800 range maybe cheaper and have a way better tune and drivability than the emanage can provide.

there are a ton of debates between the two. My buddy ran 550 whp on his SC with MAPECU2 so i am biased towards that. But both will work great
