I Have A Question. You Could Use The Ka Tranny On The Sr But With A Different Bellhousing Right? So Wouldn't That Mean I Could Use An Sr 6-speed Tranny On The Ka????? Please Lmk. I So Interested In The Swap.

you would be putting in essence a weaker tranny on a bigger engine, what would make any sense there? however didn't the 300zx tt come with a 6 if not then , please excuse me, but you could do the 300z with a 240 bell, or a 350z with a 240 bellhousing, generally you would want a strong tranny if you even plan to run the car hard

rb26's buth their AWD so im not sure how to bypas that?

I have the AWD tranny, I just didn't think they were 6sp. Plus like you said before it is not a easy job to instal it.

R34 GTR's had 6-speed transmissions.

If you were to run a S15 Silvia 6 speed, you'd also have to run the diff since that's where the speed sensor is located.

So if I have the s15 silvia full swap, and I don't have the diff; it is not a full swap????

motors dont come 6 spds tranny's do and the rb26 is an awd drive tranny so i dont know if you would want to go that route

I was looking into using a z33 6spd transmission and making an adaptor plate to mate it to my ka. The problem is the gear ratios. If you look at the ratios in the 6spd transmission it will require you to use a 3.3 or 3.4 final drive ratio which is only available in the s15 differential. If you put a 6 spd transmission in your car while using your 4.08 final drive (240sx) you will have a 20% speed reduction per gear....... so instead of first gear going to 33mph at 7k. It will do 25mph in first at 7k. and the rest of your gears will follow. which is really short and really gay.

The s15 6 spd transmission uses the same bell housing as the s13\14 sr. well I DO NOT know if they are identical. But its close. putting 6 gears in the same place that 5 originally were means they have to be smaller. 6spd is weaker then 5spd in s chassis world.

leave your damn transmissions alone, they work pretty damn good, and if you do break it, find another one for 100.
