I just bought a 1987 BMW 325i in mint condition,white,5 spd,and 2 door.I was wondering if anyone can tell me about the bad & good side about owning this car??any personal experiences to tell me.the only thing to fix on this car is the oil pan needs to be replace.....I will post some pics later this week after getting it home.

e30s are great cars. I guess it'd turn in an endless argument if I said it's one of the best handling cars out there, but it is what the car is known for.

Owning an e30 is a great deal.... they are literally bulletproof with the proper maintenance. Electrical problems are very rare, and drivetrain problems are almost as rare. As long as you maintain the car with it's tune-ups, the car will run forever. I've seen a ****load of these e30s break into the 300k miles with no rebuilds.

People constantly argue that because it's a BMW everything is expensive. Nonsense. Prices for maintenance parts are just as cheap as a Nissan/Toyota if you know where to buy. BMA Parts offers the cheapest prices and they also match prices if you find it for cheaper elsewhere. If you can wait for the ground shipping from Cali then they are your best bet.

Modifying the car is quite the challenge though. Since it's not a very sought car.... there isnt a big aftermarket support. Parts for it are there, but prices reflect it since the car is somewhat rare in the aftermarket support. Aftermarket parts are usually a bit more expensive than 240s would be.

All said and done, every single day when I look at my car I feel like it's worth the extra effort.

very well engineered car, almost bombproof. timing belt is realy the only weak spot in the motor, just needs to be checked every 6 mounths. -josh

all i kno is when u say bmw is u say $$$$ on parts

Not unless you're talking about an ///M, and even then there are some non-M counter parts that are identical part numbers, just hella cheaper.

nice responses on this tread from u guys. All I can say that this car looks good and can't wait to replace the oil pan so I can start driving it .Next will be few mods here and there.I will post some pics this weekend so you guys can check it out.
I'm also checking out a 1982 BMW 528i.looks good but don't know much about the past history on this car.well I will also post some pics on this car too.Anyone can tell me more about this 82 528i will be nice to find out.....Just to let you guys know I love my 92 s13 coupe.

good choice that car has won so many DTM, scca etc... road race events that its not even funny. The DTM in Germany is the biggest reason why you can get parts for this car that are superior to anything else out there, but they are expensive and sometimes hard to come by. 528i has a block that fits a turbo header from the turbo diesel directly. As a matter of fact I might have one extra turbo header for that engine. Never the less straight six engines are the most reliable out of anything and can hold lots of power, if properly build ( M5, M6, M3, Supra, skyline etc..) they also have loads of torque which helps on drifting. Good luck with your new car.heres a clip of BMW vs Nissan 1/4run
