Hi south florida drifters. im about to buy a s13, 93 240sx. Automatic. Its bone stock with a straight pipee. It has 175,000 miles on the engine with a replaced transmission. Brand new tires, No dents, or marks, perfect black paint job. interior is clean. Cd player. no torn seats nothing, perfect. Blows COLD Ac. Heater works as well. Okay the downside, the left head light does not go down, the window on the right door does not go down either. The car has no catalytic converters. When you rev it white smoke comes out through the straight pipe. not sure wat it is but im guessing its a leak sumwhere. My big concern is how long this engine is gonna last for me. His asking price is 1500 but im going to lower it to 1200. Is 1200 a good price for this car? Appreciate any suggestions, any comments, just really need an oponion on this purchase. anything will do. Thanks :)

^yeah

With 175k im not shocked.

You can always try to low ball him and have the head rebuilt at a machine shop.

i knoww. the car is in great condition. never messed with. 2nd owner. i woudlnt mind swapping it. except dont have the $ yet. but yeah the only thing that concerns me is that smoke and the mileage it has on it. wat i was thinking of doing is just offering him straight 900. no more than 1000

see what he says.. whats the worst that can happen? he says no? is it a sohc or dohc?

i kno some one on this forum with a dual cam KA that has 230XXX miles on it. still running strong.

my old KA had 233,xxx on it never smoked ran good until i changed the cams then i blew a rod but up until that point shit was good. You can get a low milage KA for $300 so if the motor blows just buy another drop it in and done.

let me also add the pervious owners took really shitty care of it head was sludge city and the oil looked like it wasnt changed in 12,000 + miles.

well im like really confusedd lol. cuz ima offer him 900 and if he says yes. and i get it today and tomorrow it doesnt start. ima be REALLLY pissed lol. ill have 500 bucks left over but still its gonna take time for me to actually get a swap.

you buy the car then go buy a motor pull it and put in the new one i did mine in a few hours solo its not hard.

you can get a KA with under 100,xxx on it and a 5 speed tranny for about 400-450 but you still gotta get other parts to do the 5 speed swap. I spent $200 for my tranny and every part i needed for my swap but most of the parts i got were new. You can probobly do it cheaper if you hit junk yards to get the parts.
