im building a ka-t and was told to put on adjustable timing gears..i figure on going with the jim wolf ones. i know the basics that they will adjust the amount of time that the valves open and shut, but once i do have them i'm not really sure what to retard or advance? i dont think it would be a trial and error kind of thing... input and more information would help. thanks!

Trial and error on a dyno w/ a tuner and since you have sprockets, not gears, it can be a pita.

i was hoping that wasnt gonna be said:ugh:
still have some time before it gets to a dyno though...itll be worth it in the long run.
thank you sir.
anything sold to make the timing cover not such a pita to take on and off...lol
