alternator or battery?

Motor:SR20det blacktop s13

So I have to jump my car in order to start it, however, after about 5 minutes, it dies. With a voltage meter on the battery it will read 12v, then 11, then 10 and so on till it dies. Now, the alternator reads 13.4?? So im guessing the battery? Any input would be appreciated. Also, has anybody ever rocked a ka alternator on an sr? I know it can be done but it talks about drilling out a hole on the bracket?

yes u can use a ka alternator on an sr, when u get the new alternator just drill out the threads on the threaded hole and it goes right it

i did this on a redtop by the way
 
when you get it started disconect the positive battery cable ... if it stays on battery is bad if it shuts off the alternater is bad
the sr altnater is diferent than ka one , i think it was the bottom hole didnt line up or it didnt center the belt something like that

i did it n it lines up perfect, the onlye thing is u gotta drill out ththe threads in the hole
 
was it a pain to remove the alternator on the sr considering that its in the car?? It looks like a tight spot. How many bolts hold it?

Ok update!!!

I just finished removing the alternator off my sr.

Question is: Which hole do I drill out? Yes the top one but which one? the Little gold bracket or the black bracket? Also, hardware wise; do I use the KA hardware or the sr hardware (bolts n shit). Im gonna use a sohc alternator because everywhere on nico and frsh alloy etc etc agree that the sohc and dohc alt are the same shiznet.

just post pics so they can draw on top of them .. might help them answering your qwuestion
 
I think you have a problem with the main lead coming off of the alternator not charging the battery. Have Autoblown check your alt to see if its really bad.
