I remember a while back that the Aero-K boys swore by XTD Clutches. Can anyone vouch for em? Especially for just a durable clutch that's gonna be beat on in a stock KA. Budget track car. I used to have a ACT 6 puck and loved it.

No. Absolutely not. Fuck no. XTD clutches are as china as they get. You might as well grab ceramic plates from your kitchen and slap them on your tranny.
 
I remember awhile back everyone had them since they were super cheap and takes a beating. If its a stock KA I say go for it dude. If im right I think Rodd had one didnt he?

But on the real, I remember Aero-K swore by them. Atleast I think it was Ryan if I'm not mistaken..(could be mistaken.. -.-) What alternatives do I got? You're telling me a OEM clutch > XTD? Lol.

Alternatives? Simple. Just like anything else you'll ever slap on your car, you pay for what you get. I would do a SPEC clutch because all I hear is good things about it and it's not overpriced.
 
Stock pressure plate and ACT 6 puck disc. Real cheap and plenty for what you wanna do.
 
Mine survived daily driving, the big track and a few skudpads. Shit qas fun. Stock feel and crazy garb.. tons of brunouts and launches.. no dislikes. And I even got it repucked
 
they are pretty shitty i use to run them all the time, they just didnt last very long like 10k , i just swapped a motor and i saw that one of the springs on the xtd clutch disc started to break n come apart, now this is with a v8 and clutch kicks like what. but ill never use them again.

Fuck spec they are the same thing an twice the money I had one on my suby that lasted one time at the track.
 
i rocked a stage 4 xtd for 3yrs on the old car beating the shit outta it, no issues, and am running a stage 3 on the new car now, best bang for your buck IMO shit grabs like a mofo

I used an xtd clutch on my 3000gt back before I knew any better. Then I snapped an axle. Clutch gave me no problems 2 years and i sold it with it.


Btw, 3000gt's are heavy as Fuck
 
act 6 puck like what jerm said...pretty legit ...i run an exedy now but its $$$'s
 
i have a xtd stage 3 6 puck, sprung, i love it, ive had it for over a year now and no problems , i have a stock ka.. id recomend it if ur on a tight budget, bc thats wat i had to resort to

You really helped me make up my mind, will go with the Act 6 puck(had it before) if I can fork up the cash at the time but XTD will definitely be next best choice :bigthumbu

put some jbweld on it when you install it will last forever
 
I had an XTD stage 3 clutch on my sr. WORST CLUTCH IN THE WORLD! Lasted two events on low boost (300whp) with maybe 1k street miles. Second run of the 3rd event it completely let go. Wouldn't hold at all.

Get a Competition Clutch and be done with it.
